YORK, Pennsylvania -- The Ferrum College men's wrestling team completed first day action at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regional. The tournament is being held Friday and Saturday, February 24-25, at York College of Pennsylvania's M&T Fieldhouse/Grumbacher Sport & Fitness Center.

THE BASICS
Ferrum is tied for 10th place with 43.5 points in a field of 21 teams. Braden Homsey is Ferrum's lone wrestling in the 197-pound semifinals after posting a 3-0 day with a tech fall and a major decision.

Four other wrestlers are alive in the consolations: Adrian Samano (125 lbs), Rubyn Semedo (133), Levi Englman (141) and Rayshawn Dixon (285).

NCAA QUALIFIER
The NCAA Southeast Regional is one of six regional tournaments going on this weekend across the country that serve at national qualifiers. Wrestlers need to finish in the top three in their respective weight classes at regional tournaments in order to earn a berth in the 2023 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, which Ferrum will host March 10-11 at The Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
