FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) wrestling win over Shenandoah University tonight at home, recording a pin, two tech falls and a major decision en route to a 35-15 win at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Adrian Samano (125 lbs) started things off with a bang, posting a 20-5 tech fall over Anakin Burks. Samano trailed 3-0 before using a 20-2 run to close the match out at 6:35.
Zach Beckner and
Jonathan Ward each accepted forfeits at 133 and 141, respectively.
Perry Roller (149) dropped a tough match by a score of 11-6, then
Tyler Ramirez (157) picked up a major decision, winning 13-2 over Cannon Long.
Mateo Villalobos (165) lost by fall, then
Franklin Melton (174) earned a solid 16-10 win over Shenandoah's Dylan Weaver, a regional place-winner.
Joseph Toner (184) lost by fall at 184, but Ferrum's
Ethan Fragoso (197) returned the favor when he decked the Hornets' George Vrachnos in the first period.
Rayshawn Dixon (285) made quick work of Daniel Basil-Barker, rolling up plenty of points to post an 18-0 tech fall at the 3:34 mark of the night's final match. Dixon remains undefeated at 18-0, and is ranked #5 nationally and #1 in the Southeast Region by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
