FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker at home to University of Olivet, falling 6-3 this afternoon at Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.

THE BASICS
Olivet opened a 2-0 lead with wins at #2 and #3 doubles. Gabriel Alvarez and Jairo Herbas posted an 8-6 win over Lucas Anderson and Trevor Lewis in the #1 spot to trim the lead to 2-1 heading into the singles portion of the match.

The Comets grabbed wins at #3 and #2 singles to extend the lead to 4-1. Ferrum's Austin Brigman trimmed the lead to 4-2 with a straight sets win over Austin Whitney, winning 6-4, 6-4 at #5 singles.

Olivet added wins at #4 and #6 singles to make it a 6-2 match. Ferrum's Gabriel Alvarez battled through a pair of tiebreaks to win 7-6, 7-6 at #1 singles over Lucas Anderson.
