FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Ferrum College dropped a pair of Conference Carolinas men's wrestling dual meets tonight on the road, felling 25-22 to host Emmanuel University and 42-11 to Montevallo University. Junior Joseph Toner had two wins to pace the Panthers, both by fall.

THE BASICS
Andres Cortes (157) and Toner (184) secured pins against Emmanuel, while Cameron Curva (149) had a major decision. Josiah Canales Maldonado (133) and Robert Owens Jr. (165) both won by decision. The Panthers led 22-19 heading into the 285-pound match, where Emmanuel's Kobe Pablo pinned Braeden Fluke in the first period to secure the win for the Lions.

Montevallo jumped out to a 36-0 lead and held on from there. Ferrum got a win from Toner (184), who posted his second pin in as many matches, this time in 6:47 over Joey Stephens. Noah Harris (197) picked up a 24-8 technical fall over Montevallo's Rhett Walters, with that match stopping at the 5:20 mark.
