DANVILLE, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up three dual meet wins at the Cougar Duals, held today at Averett University's E. Stuart James Grant Center. The Panthers opened the day with a 29-17 win over Averett's B team, then beat Bluefield State University 46-7 and closed the day with a 40-12 win over Davis & Elkins College. 

Coach Blake Roulo earned his 100th career win with today's three victories. Roulo spent six seasons as head coach at Averett, posting a 96-47 record. Ferrum is 4-5 this season, giving Roulo a 100-52 career coaching mark.

THE BASICS
Against Averett B, Andres Cortes (157 lbs) won by fall, Josiah Canales Maldonado (133) and Cameron Curva (149) both won by major decision and Hiunter Thompson (174) won by decision. Braden Crawford (141) and Joseph Toner (184) won by forfeit. 

Ferrum flexed against Bluefield State, recording six pins in the 10 matches. The Panthers got falls from Canales (133), Curva (149), Cortes (157), Robert Owens Jr. (165), Thompson (174) and Toner (184). Crawford (141) picked up a major decision, while Noah Harris (197) won by forfeit. 

Roulo's mat men closed out the day with rout of Davis & Elkins, with Canales (133) and Braeden Fluke (285) securing pins, and Owens (165) and Thompson (174) posting technical falls. Riley Conway (125), Toner (184) and Harris (197) earned forfeit wins. 

Canales, Thompson and Toner each won three matches today, with Canales improving to 9-4 this season, Thompson to 6-3 and Toner to 9-3. Fluke's pin against Davis & Elkins gives him a team-high six this season, while Toner and Cortes now have four falls each.
