FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College fell 47-44 at home to Winston-Salem State University in non-conference women's basketball action tonight at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Breyana Kimmons had a layup and a three-pointer to spot Ferrum a 5-0 lead inside the first minute of play. The Panthers expanded to lead to 17-7 after one quarter.
Ferrum got rolling in the second quarter, eventually widening the lead to 17 points when Gracie Bean's three-pointer made it a 26-9 game. Winston-Salem State got the lead down to 10 points at the break, 26-16.
Neveah Farmer's layup for the Rams to close the third quarter narrowed the gap to six points, 35-29, after three.
In the fourth quarter, Kloe Thompson hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 41-41 with 2:48 left. Farmer was fouled and made two free throws at the 1:54 mark to give the Rams a 43-41 lead, their first of the game. Ferrum's
Taryn Blankenship was fouled at the other end of the floor and sank a pair of free throws to tie the game at 43-43 with 57 seconds left in regulation.
Maslyn Mosbacher was fouled as she stole WSSU's ensuing inbound pass, and made one of two free throws to put Ferrum back out in front, 44-43. Maia Charles then made a layup with 35 seconds remaining to put the Rams back in front, 45-44, then Ah-Kiyah Pye was fouled and made two free throws in the waning seconds of the game to seal the comeback win.
