BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team traveled to Bluefield State University for a non-conference game tonight, falling 70-51 at Ned Shott Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
Bluefield State led 5-3 early on, but used an 8-2 run to go out in front 13-5 en route to an 18-11 lead after the first quarter. The Big Blue extended the lead to 37-26 at halftime.Â

Taryn Blankenship converted a pair of free throws to get the lead down to nine points, 41-32, at 4:11 of the third quarter, but Bluefield State led by 19 points at the end of three. The two teams played an even fourth quarter, each scoring 15 points.
