CEDAR BLUFF, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up a non-conference men's tennis win today on the road, beating Southwest Virginia Community College 7-0 at the SVCC Tennis Courts.

Today's match was the first career win for Ferrum Head Coach
Noah Hughes, who is in his first season at the helm of the Panther men's and women's tennis programs.
Emilio Munguia and
Gabriel Alvarez won 8-3 at #1 doubles, and
Austin Brigman and
Tripoom Jala won 8-2 at #2 doubles to spot Ferrum a 1-0 lead headed into singles play.
The Panthers then made quick work in singles, sweeping through the six matches with Jala, Munguia, Alvarez, Brigman,
Jairo Herbas and
Aukiem Mitchell each winning in straight sets in the #1-6 spots, respectively.
