OCEAN ISLE, North Carolina -- Ferrum College's men's golf team moved up a spot from opening round play at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational, finishing fifth in a field of 18 teams. The tournament was hosted by Pfeiffer University Monday at Ocean Ridge Plantation.

THE BASICS
William Peace University's Ian Williams carded a 149 to earn medalist, finishing one stroke better than Southern Virginia University's Nikki Taggart. Ferrum's Brandon Jones finished tied for sixth at 154, while teammate Tiaan Diedericks tied for 16th at 157.
