FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College is proud to announce that four student-athletes from it's men's and women's basketball programs have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, recognizing their outstanding achievements both on the court and in the classroom.
Representing Ferrum's women's basketball program, seniors Erin Harden and Taryn Blankenship, along with sophomore Maslyn Mosbacher, each earned CSC Academic All-District honors following impressive seasons athletically and academically. Harden, a senior from Clifton Forge, Virginia, is majoring in Biology, while Blankenship, a senior from Pulaski, Virginia, is majoring in Pre-Med. Mosbacher, a sophomore from Oak Ridge, North Carolina, is majoring in Nursing.
On the men's side, senior Gerren Jones, a native of Swansboro, North Carolina, also garnered Academic All-District recognition and has been selected as a finalist for the CSC Academic All-America Team. Gerren is majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
The CSC Academic All-District honor celebrates student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in academics while contributing significantly to their teams. To be eligible, nominees must maintain a high cumulative grade-point average and meet specific participation criteria.
Ferrum's honorees exemplify the institution's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who succeed athletically and academically. Their dedication reflects the core values of Ferrum College Athletics, emphasizing discipline, leadership, and academic achievement.
"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for earning this prestigious recognition," said a Ferrum Athletic Director Cleive Adams. "Their ability to balance the demands of collegiate athletics with excellence in the classroom speaks volumes about their character, work ethic, and commitment to success."
Jones will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the Academic All-America teams scheduled to be announced on April 14, 2026.
