CENTRAL, S.C. – The Ferrum College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Southern Wesleyan University, 17-8, Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action, as Micaiyah Dickerson led the Panthers with four goals and two assists.

THE BASICS
Southern Wesleyan struck first with two early goals, but Ferrum responded late in the opening quarter behind Dickerson and Lana Barkovic. Barkovic scored on a man-up opportunity, followed by a man-down goal from Dickerson to even the score at 2-2 after one.

The Warriors took control in the second quarter, outscoring Ferrum 5-2 to carry a 7-4 lead into halftime. The Panthers capitalized on player-advantage situations with goals from Alaia Beckwith and Barkovic, but Southern Wesleyan maintained momentum.

Southern Wesleyan broke the game open in the third quarter with six goals. Ferrum answered with three scores of its own, including two from Dickerson and one from Barkovic, but trailed 13-7 heading into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, the Warriors added four more goals to secure the 17-8 victory. Dickerson netted Ferrum's lone goal of the period.
