FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's flag football team improved to 3-1 with a blowout win over North Carolina Center University, winning 40-6 this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Ferrum took a 6-0 at the break on
Macy Taylor's two-yard rush in the first quarter. The Panthers turned up the heat in the second half, scoring 34 points to open a 40-0 lead, which held up until the very last few seconds of the game, when NC Central scored a touchdown.Â
Quarterback
Payson Shreeve was 25-37 passing for 229 yards and three touchdowns.
Breyana Kimmons made five receptions for 54 yards and a score, Jaden Jiers had a pair of receptions for 29 yards and a score, and
Zy'Breayziah Alexander caught a pass for a touchdown.
On defense,
Samantha Pitzer made four tackles and recorded a pair of interceptions for 47 yards. Malaea Lotima Tonga added three tackles, an interception and a pass breakup, while
Miracle Turner had a tackle and an interception.Â
