Margaret Parcell Bisnett

Margaret Parcell joined the Ferrum athletic staff as head men's & women's swimming coach in August 2015 after closing out her swimming career as a four-year letter winner with the Virginia Tech women's swimming and diving team. While at Virginia Tech, Parcell was part of the Student-Athlete Honor Roll four times from 2012-15. She helped the Hokies win Atlantic Coast Conference titles in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Parcell earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Virginia Tech in May 2015. A 2011 graduate of Franklin County High School, Parcell was B'nai B'rith nominee as well as a two-time district champ in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. As a soccer player for the Eagles, she set the new school record for career goals. An Honor Roll student all four years at FCHS in both soccer and swimming, Parcell was a Wendy's Heisman Award state finalist.

Parcell's community service involvement included working with the Roanoke Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Rocky Mount Christian Church Youth Group, American Red Cross, Vacation Bible School, CATCE, Make-A-Wish and Ronald McDonald Foundation. She is the daughter of Liz and Bob Parcell and has two siblings, a sister Annie and brother Bradley. Parcell resides in nearby Rocky Mount, Virginia.
