DANVILLE, Va. -- Ferrum College's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to Averett University on the road tonight. Set scores for the USA South match were 25-23, 25-9, 25-18.
The loss evens this year's home-and-away series at 1-1. Ferrum defeated Averett 3-2 Sept. 24 in Ferrum.
Ferrum was led by
Jessica Flanagan, who had had eight kills.
Tiffany Walker had five kills and a block assist.
Jessica Washburn had 11 assists and
Hannah Shumaker had 11 digs.
Averett (11-18, 8-5 USA South) got 12 kills from Shannon Andy and 10 from Jordan Maupin. Jessie Jones had 31 assists and Meredith Schwane had 12 digs.
Ferrum (7-19, 6-7 USA South) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 25, at a USA South quad meet at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Panthers face Peace College at 4 p.m., then take on host Meredith at 6 p.m.
