Moore Named Softball Assistant Coach

FERRUM, Va. -- Former standout Trica Moore has been named Assistant Softball Coach at Ferrum College.

Moore played for Ferrum from 2003 through 2006, earning USA South All-Conference first team honors her senior year in 2006. She helped Ferrum win the 2005 USA South Tournament and a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Moore was a member of the 2004 and 2005 USA South All-Tournament teams.

Moore holds the school record for career home runs (18) and won Ferrum's team batting title in 2004 (.306 avg) and again in 2006 (.385 avg). She earned her bachelor of science degree in 2006, majoring in health science. Moore is also working towards a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry, which she anticipates completing in May of 2008.

Moore will be involved with all areas of coaching Ferrum's NCAA Division III softball program, under Head Coach Vickie Van Kleeck. She will also serve as Head Junior Varsity Softball Coach, a program in its debut season at the College this spring.

Moore served as team captain at Ferrum in 2006. A 2002 graduate of Appomattox County High School, Moore currently resides in Ferrum.
