GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College built a 21-0 lead and held on for a 28-20 USA South Athletic Conference football win over Greensboro College this afternoon on the road at Jamieson Stadium.

WR Derrick West had a pair of touchdown receptions for the Panthers. QB Marcus Mayo was 3-4 passing for 85 yards, two TDs and no interceptions.

RB Roger Smith had 85 yards and a touchdown on nine rushes for the Panthers.

Kall Daniel was 18-31 passing with three TDs and two interceptions for Greensboro (1-5, 0-3 USA South).  Daniel was the leading rusher this afternoon for the Pride, netting 46 yards on 16 carries.

Tremaine Whitney had seven solo and three assisted tackles for Ferrum.  Kenny Tapscott and Neal Thomas each had an interception for Ferrum (2-4, 2-1 USA South).  Allan Stallings led Greensboro with 12 tackles, six solo and six assisted.

The Panthers are back in action next Saturday at home against Shenandoah University.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.  The game will coincide with Ferrum's Blue Ridge Folklife Festival, being held on campus starting at 7 a.m.
