Kashina Hancock homered in both games of a USA South twinbill as Ferrum College swept Peace College 6-1 and 5-2 this afternoon at Franklin Community Bank Field.
Whitney Womack had a grand slam in game two for Ferrum.
The Panthers (18-8, 8-0 USA South) set a new school record for consecutive wins with their 11th, topping the previous record of 10 straight wins during the 2004 season.
Womack's grand slam in the first inning led to a 5-1 lead, which the Panthers never relinquished. It was her first career home run, and she now has 20 RBI to go with her .362 batting average.
Kaitlyn Culler ran her record to 8-1 on the mound this season with another complete-game win. Culler pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run and two walks, while striking out four of the 29 batters she faced.
Hannah Shumaker pitched six solid innings to get the win in game two, striking out eight while walking three and allowing an earned run.
Ashley Stansbury homered in the first game for Peace (13-12, 2-4 USA South).
Ferrum is back in action Wednesday, March 31, at Shenandoah University. The USA South doubleheader is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Winchester, Virginia.
