FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Methodist University swept Ferrum College in USA South softball action this afternoon, 10-2 in six innings in the first game and 3-2 in the nightcap.

The losses snapped a school record 11-game win streak for the Panthers, dating back to March 15.

Rachel Shumaker combined to go 4-6 with an RBI for Ferrum.  Shumaker went 2-3 with a double and an RBI in the first game, then 2-3 with a walk in the second  game.  Jasmine Parker went 3-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in game two.

Katie Byrd and Jody Eyler each combined to go 5-7 for Methodist (12-18, 8-4 USA South).

Ferrum (18-10, 8-2 USA South) is back in action Saturday, April 3, at Guilford College.  The non-conference doubleheader gets underway at 1:30 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
