ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Ferrum College swept North Carolina Wesleyan College in a USA Sough softball doubleheader this afternoon on the road, taking the opener 2-1 in eight innings and the nightcap 7-6.

Whitney Womack's single through the left side in the top of the eighth inning pushed two runs across for the Panthers.

In the second game, Allyson Stevens doubled in the top of the seventh to drive in the game-winning run. Megan Barger solo homered in the fourth inning for Ferrum (25-11, 13-3 USA South).

Brittany Nichols had three base hits in game two for N.C. Wesleyan (11-16, 4-12 USA South), including a pair of doubles.  Ferrum's road trip continues Saturday, April 10, when Coach Van Kleeck's team plays at Christopher Newport University.  The USA South doubleheader gets underway at 2 p.m. in Newport News, Virginia.
