FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped its volleyball season- opener at home before a crowd of over 300 spectators in Swartz Gymnasium, falling 3-0 to non-conference opponent Emory & Henry College.  Game scores were 25-13, 25-8, 25-18.

Kayla Trippeer led the Panthers with seven kills on 15 attacks.  Chelsey Ellerbe had 13 digs, while Leah Quinones had 11 assists and Rachel Stratton had eight digs..

Kim Caudill led the Wasps with seven kills on 13 attacks.  Jamie Cockerham had six kills on 19 attacks and added six service aces.Fallon Davis had 10 assists for Emory & Henry (1-0).

Ferrum (0-1) plays next on Sept. 7 at Guilford College.  The non-conference match is set for 6:30 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
