HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a tough five-set non-conference match tonight, falling 3-2 to Eastern Mennonite University at Yoder Arena. Set scores were 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 15-11.
Jordan Link had 14 kills and 10 digs,
Rachel Stratton had 13 kills, and
Leah Quinones had 36 assists and 16 digs.
Kayla Trippeer had 21 digs and five aces to go with six kills.
Hannah Shumaker had 19 digs, and
Sadie Wallace had 14 digs.
Brittany Jacobs also had a solid night with 11 digs and seven kills.
Sara Ritchie had 22 kills for Eastern Mennonite (3-10), while Karla Martin had 11 kills and 22 digs. Katie Miller added 20 digs for the Royals, and Mattie Lehman had 19 digs and 40 assists.
Ferrum (1-8) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 29, at home with a USA South Athletic Conference tri-meet at Swartz Gym. The Panthers face league newcomer LaGrange College at noon and Averett University at 4 p.m. LaGrange and Averett will face each other at 2 p.m.
