LEXINGTON, Va. -- Ferrum College's men's basketball team fell 83-79 this afternoon to Defiance College in the title game of the 2013 W&L Tip-Off Tournament, hosted the past two days at Washington and Lee University.

The Panthers' Brian Clarke was named to the All-Tournament Team. Clark had 24 points, Jamal Pullen had 22 points and Alek Ayer added 10 points. In two days, Clarke totaled 34 points, 17 assists and 13 rebounds.

The duo of Ryan Hicks and Bernard Edwards scored 25+ points each for the Yellow Jackets (2-0). Hicks had 27 points and Edwards had 26. Ferrum trailed 38-34 at halftime. Hicks added nine rebounds, while Travis Schoemaeker chipped in 14 points.

Ferrum (1-1) returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 20, with its home-opener against Emory & Henry College. The non-conference game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. in Swartz Gymnasium.
