FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's volleyball team dropped its home-opener, falling 3-0 to visiting Emory & Henry College. The Panthers got 11 assists from Leah Quinones and 10 from Alicia Serna in the non-conference loss.

Ashley Ammann led the Panthers (0-1) in kills with seven, followed by Rachel Stratton and Kellee Lewis with five each. Quinones had 10 digs, Jessica Turner had eight and Jordan Link had seven. Tristen Pennington led the Wasps (1-0) with 11 kills, while teammates Autumn Roe and Maleah Neely had 11 assists each.

Ferrum returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 3, at home against Roanoke College. The non-conference match gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in Swartz Gym.
