FERRUM, Va. -- Averett University posted a 3-0 USA South Athletic Conference volleyball win over Ferrum College tonight at Swartz Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-10, 25-17, 25-11. Allison Sparks posted 19 kills and eight digs for Averett (7-4, 1-0 USA South), while Nicole Barringer had 36 assists.
Rachel Stratton led the Panthers (1-5, 0-1 USA South) with six kills, and
Emily Danner had 18 assists and three digs.
Kellee Lewis and
Jessica Turner recorded six digs each,
Ashley Ammann had five kills, and
Jordan Link posted three kills and a service ace.
Ferrum returns to action Saturday, Sept. 21, hosting a USA South quad meet with Averett, Methodist University and Meredith College. The Panthers face Methodist at 10 a.m., then Methodist will face Averett at noon. Averett will then play Meredith at 2 p.m., followed by the final match of the day, Ferrum vs. Meredith at 4 p.m.
