FERRUM, Va. --
Ashley Ammann had 14 kills combined as Ferrum College lost a pair of USA South Athletic Conference volleyball matches this afternoon at home. The Panthers fell 3-1 to Piedmont College and 3-0 to Averett University at Swartz Gym.
Ammann had four kills and 12 digs,
Emily Danner had 20 assists and
Hannah Blake had 17 assists against Piedmont. Mallory Leary had 11 kills for the Lions (14-8, 6-2 USA South), Xandy Green had 18 assists and Kait Steel had 13 assists. set scores were 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

Sarah Hendrix had 11 digs against Averett. Hannah Shields had 10 kills for the Cougars (14-12, 8-4 USA South) and Nicole Barringer had 27 assists. Set scores were 25-12, 25-20, 25-23.
Ferrum (3-17, 2-10 USA South) returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 15, at home against Methodist University. The USA South game gets underway at 7:00 p.m. at Swartz Gymnasium. Coach Jessica Flanagan's team will then compete in another USA South tri-meet Saturday, Oct. 18, in LaGrange Georgia. The Panthers face host LaGrange College at 10:00 a.m. and Huntingdon College at 2:00 p.m.
