PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. -- Six Ferrum College runners, three men and three women, competed in the 2014 USA South Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championships, held this afternoon at Hagan Stone Park.

In the men's race, Covenant College won the title with four of the top six times, scoring 25 points. Piedmond College (41) was second, followed by Maryville College (74), Methodist University (105), Averett University (131) and LaGrange College (135). Bobby Pope (19th, 31:36), Michael Rucinski (35th, 34:40) and Kevin Minter (42nd, 38:30) all completed the 8K course for the Panthers.

In the women's race, Meredith College won the title with 39 points, just edging runner-up Covenant (42). Maryville College (103) was third and Mary Baldwin College (114) was fourth. Sirena Pangelinan (50th, 31:07), Caoimhe Rafferty (51st, 31:08) and Ingrid Bonilla (64th, 32:48) all completed the 6K course for Ferrum.
