Charlotte, N.C. - The Ferrum College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to McAlpine Creek Park to race in the Royals Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. The meet featured a competitive field with more than 20 collegiate programs from across the Southeast, providing Ferrum valuable mid-season experience.
Women's Team Highlights
Freshman
Carly Carwile paced the women's team, finishing 33rd overall in a time of 20:41.64 in the 5000-meter race. The Panthers placed 15th out of 21 teams, showing strong progress in a large field.

The Ferrum men's team turned in a 15th-place finish out of 18 scoring teams in the 8000-meter race. Led by Guillermo Basurto-Cacho, the Panthers placed five runners in the top 100 and demonstrated improved pack running.

Coach Andre Kidd's team will be back in action on Saturday, October 25th when they travel to Greenville, SC to compete in the Confernce Carolinas Cross Country Championships. This will mark Ferrum's first post season action as a member in Conference Carolinas.
