RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Ferrum College women's basketball team picked up a 53-40 USA South Athletic Conference win this afternoon on the road over Meredith College. The win was Ferrum's fourth straight and improved the team to 14-1 overall.
Boreika Burwell closed with 11 points and seven rebounds, and
Kylene Culler had a game-high 13 rebounds.
Jacole Hairston and
Shea Smith had nine points each, while
Katy Kipps chipped in eight points and eight rebounds.
McKenzie Edwards had 13 points for the Avenging Angels (6-9, 4-5 USA South). Ferrum led 37-26 at halftime and dominated the boards 53-34.
Ferrum (14-1, 8-1 USA South) will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 2, at William Peace University in Raleigh, North Carolina. The league doubleheader gets underway at 1:00 p.m. with the women's game, and the men's game tips off at 3:00 p.m.
