FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College is set to play Capital (Ohio) University in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. Tip-Off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Swartz Gym or 30 minutes following the end of the first game between Christopher Newport University and Eastern Mennonite University.

The Panthers (26-2) earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament by winning last weekend's USA South Tournament. Ferrum beat Maryville College 64-50 Saturday in the title game. The Panthers are making their third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. This is Ferrum's fourth overall appearance in program history.

Capital (19-8) won the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament last weekend to claim its automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Crusaders beat Ohio Northern University 67-50 in the championship game. Capital is led by Head Coach Dixie Jeffers.
