FERRUM, Va. -- Emory & Henry College got eight kills from Tristen Pennington and 17 assists from Maleah Neely in a 3-0 non-conference volleyball win over Ferrum College tonight at Swartz Gym. The match was the season opener for both teams.

Ashley Ammann led Ferrum with seven kills. Hannah Blake had 10 assists and Emily Danner had nine assists for the Panthers (0-1). Emory & Henry (1-0) got five kills each from Kennady Thomason, Hannah Doss, and Allie Evans.

Ferrum returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 9, at home against non-conference opponent Eastern Mennonite University. Match time is 7 p.m.
