ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Adrian Minondo rushed 36 times for 211 yards and a touchdown to lead North Carolina Wesleyan College past Ferrum College 42-33 in USA South action this afternoon at Bishop Stadium.
Harvey Taylor scored three touchdowns for Ferrum, two rushing and one receiving.

How It Happened
Ferrum opened scoring with
Troy Helton's 1-yard run early in the first quarter but the PAT was blocked, the first of two occurrences in the game. Taylor then scored on a 31-yard pass from Helton and Ferrum led 13-0 with 4:00 left in the first. Wesleyan answered quickly on Minondo's 7-yard run to trim the lead to 13-7, then the Bishops went out in front on Slade Dale's 18-yard TD reception mid-way through the second quarter.
Chris Guy hauled in a 19-yard TD pass from Helton and the Panthers were back out in front 19-14 after the PAT was blocked. Wesleyan took a 21-14 lead into the break after Malik Adams hauled in a 16-yard TD pass from Dustin Midget. Taylor scored mid-way through the third quarter on a 2-yard run and Ferrum went out in front again, 26-21. Adams hauled in another TD pass, this time from five yards out, and Andrew Tyson scored on a 6-yad run to put the Bishops out in front for good at 35-26. Taylor scored one last time for the Panthers, a s-yard run, to trim the lead to 35-33, but the Bishops answered when Adams hauled a 54-yard TD pass from Midget for the final count.
Record Watch
Helton closed out his season with 1400 rushing yards, missing the school record for single season rushing yards by 43 yards. The record of 1443 yards was set by former Ferrum and NFL great Chris Warren during the 1988 season. Today's game marked the ninth consecutive time in which Helton rushed for over 100 yards.
