Darren Major scored 10 points as Ferrum College fell 57-51 to Averett University in USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball action tonight at the Grant Center.

How It Happened
The two teams played even in the first half, with the Cougars holding a 30-28 lead at the break. Major's jumper with 9:49 left to play gave the Panthers a 41-38 lead, but Averett used a 19-10 run to close out the game. Averett out-rebounded Ferrum 37-28. The two teams shot a dismal 2-17 (Ferrum 2-8, Averett 0-9) from behind the three-point line.
