FERRUM, Va. --
Brian Mann had 344 all-purpose yards in leading Ferrum College to a 35-30 USA South football win over Methodist University tonight at W.B. Adams Stadium. Ferrum trailed 30-13, but rallied to score 22 unanswered points to close out the game.

THE BASICS
Mann's first touchdown of the day, a four-yard run at 10:44 of the second quarter, put Ferrum out in front 6-3. Methodist scored a touchdown to take a 9-6 lead, then Mann scored his second TD on a 13-yard run to put the Panthers back on top 13-9 with 2:56 left in the first half. The Monarchs drove 74 yards in eight plays, scoring on a 29-yard pass to take a 16-13 lead at the break. Methodist scored two touchdowns in the first eight minutes of the third quarter to claim a 30-13 lead.

Khari Chase and Mann answered with touchdown runs of five, 52 and 37 yards, respectively, to close out the game.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
Mann's 344 all-purpose yards eclipsed the single game school record or 327 yards, previously set by Chris Warren in 1988 against Rhodes College and equaled by Mike Vann in 2007 against Averett University. This is the second school record Mann has broken during his rookie campaign, including the single game rushing yards record of 254 yards he set in a 44-20 win over LaGrange College Oct. 22, 2016 on the road.
