FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a pair of volleyball wins today at home, defeating North Carolina Wesleyan College 3-2 in USA South action, then earning a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent Eastern Mennonite University at Swartz Gym.

In the marathon match with N.C. Wesleyan, the Panthers opened a 2-0 lead, only to see the Bishops battle back to take the next two sets.
Hannah Helbert had 17 kills and
Cheyenne Strickland had a career-high 47 assists.
Jordan Joyce and
Jessica Turner had 13 kills each. After N.C. Wesleyan beat EMU in five sets, Ferrum rolled through the third match of the day, beating the Royals handily. Turner finished with 12 kills in that match and Strickland had 30 assists.
