FERRUM, Va. -- Malik Adams had three second-quarter touchdown catches to help lead North Carolina Wesleyan College to a 27-13 USA South football win over Ferrum College in the season finale for both schools this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

Brian Mann set the single season school record for rushing yards with today's 51 yards, closing his rookie campaign with 1453 yards. The previous record was held by former Ferrum great and NFL All-Pro running back Chris Warren, who had 1443 yards in 1988.
Ferrum opened the game with a pair of
Chase Deaton field goals from 42 and 36 yards out to spot the Panthers a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter. Gardner then found Adams for touchdown strikes of three, 15 and seven yards to put the Bishop on top 21-6 at the break.
Chris Richardson had a pair of field goals in the second half (29 yards, 27 yards) for N.C. Wesleyan. Ferrum's
Raushod Floyd had a 69-yard touchdown reception from
