Wrestling vs. Hampden-Sydney Postponed

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's home men's wrestling match with Hampden-Sydney College, scheduled for this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Swartz Gym, has been postponed. A new date for the non-conference match with the Tigers has not been announced.

The Panthers will be back on the mat Saturday, Nov. 19, when they host the Star City Open at the Hotel Roanoke. This is the first year for the tournament, which Coach Nate Yetzer hopes will become an annual event.

Ferrum is 2-0 thus far, with dual meet wins over Washington and Lee University and Southern Virginia University.

Yetzer's squad finished 12-4 last season, placed fifth at the NCAA East Regional and sent two wrestlers to the NCAA Div. III Tournament. Logan Meister became the College's first-ever wrestling All-American after posting a 6th-place finish in the 157-pound weight class at the NCAA Tournament. Meister is the #1-ranked wrestler in the country at 157 to open the 2016-17 season.
