NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Ferrum College's baseball team evened a three-game series with Christopher Newport University at a game each with today's 8-5 non-conference win at Captains Park. The two teams close out the series tomorrow.

THE BASICS
Ferrum struck for two runs in the first inning on a
Lane Deaver RBI triple and a sacrifife fly by
Jake Martin. The Panthers got another run in the fifth on
Ty Comer's sac bunt, then added two in the sixth on
Kyle Anstice's sac bunt and
Drew Calohan's single into the right center gap. In the ninth inning, Martin singled to center field to drive in a pair of insurance runs.
