FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a USA South Athletic Conference volleyball match tonight at home to Averett University, falling 3-0 at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-19, 25-9, 25-17.

The two teams played evenly in the first set, with the Cougars winning 25-19. Averett blasted through the second set, then took another tight set in the third to end the league match. Hannah Shields had 22 kills and McKenzie Miller added 22 assists for Averett, while the Panthers got nine digs from
Summer Smart.
