LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Ferrum College's men's basketball team dropped a USA South game to Covenant College this afternoon on the road, falling 76-64 at Barnes Physical Education Center.

THE BASICS
Ferrum led 16-9 eight minutes into the game, but the Scots used a 15-7 run over the next seven minutes to grab a 24-23 lead with five minutes left in the first half. The Scots used a 27-13 run to open the second half and grab a 64-47 lead on Berto Dryden's jumper with 9:29 left to play. Ferrum got as close as 11 points a couple times down the stretch, but Covenant answered each time.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"Tough game today. They shot the ball really well from behind the three-point line, and killed any momentum that we had," said Head Coach Tyler Sanborn. "I'm proud of our effort, we worked hard on both sides of the basketball, especially defensively. Our guys sat down and defended hard, but when teams make that many perimeter shots, it's hard to stay in the game."
NEXT GAME
Sanborn's team will be back in action Wednesday, Feb. 14, at home against Greensboro College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Swartz Gym. The Panthers then close out regular season play Saturday, Feb. 17, at Methodist University.
