MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. -- Ferrum College's baseball team took the final game of a three-game non-conference weekend series with Virginia Wesleyan University, winning 6-1 this afternoon at Big Rock Stadium.

Ferrum got all the runs it would need in the bottom of the first inning, with

Brandon Roberts scoring on a
Tim Ortega RBI single, and Ortega crossing the plate on a
Drew Calohan RBI single. The Panthers tacked on a run in the third inning and two in the eighth for the final count.

Ryan Brittle. "We were in every game in the series and pulled the last one out. It was a great team win as everyone did their job. These guys continue to fight day in and day out. I couldn't ask for any more effort out of our players."
