HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Ferrum College's baseball game against Hampden-Sydney College this afternoon at Ty Cobb Ballpark was suspended in the eighth inning due to darkness. The Tigers led 8-1 at the time the game was halted.
THE BASICS
The game was slowed largely in part to Ferrum having six different pitchers see action, while eight pitchers saw time on the mound for Hampden-Sydney. The Tigers scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second and two in the third. Ferrum avoided the shutout with a run in the fifth inning.
WRAP IT UP
The two teams agreed to complete the game at Ferrum on April 19, when they are scheduled to play the second game in the home-and-away series..
