FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Emory & Henry College this afternoon at home, falling 15-11 at Panther Field. The Wasps built a 10-0 lead, then held on for the non-conference win.

Christian Campbell broke up the shutout when he lined a single down the left field line in the bottom of the third inning, stole second, then scored on
Brandon Roberts' RBI single to center field. The Panthers trailed 15-6 in the bottom of the ninth inning, then got rolling with five runs before the Wasps closed it out. Ben Saxton went 4-4 at the plate for the Wasps with two doubles, two runs and two RBI.
Garrett Dorton went 3-5 with two doubles, two runs and four RBI for the Panthers. Starter Noah Griffin (1-0) got the win after pitching seven innings and allowing seven hits, four earned runs and a walk with six strikeouts. Starter

Ryan Brittle's team will be back in action Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Washington and Lee University. The non-conference game gets underway at 3:0 p.m. in Lexington, Virginia. The Panthers then host Averett University in a three-game weekend series Friday through Sunday, March 2-4, to open USA South play.
