THE BASICS
Ferrum opened the scoring in the third inning with a string of infield hits. Grayson Chitwood brought in first baseman Tim Ortega for the game's first run. Ozzie Torres would cap off the Panther third with another infield hit, this time in the four hole, scoring Josh Greenway. The Panthers would end the third with the 2-0 early advantage.
It was not until the fifth inning that the Golden Eagles would answer. Ryan Mansell laid down a perfect bunt to ride the chalk down the first base line to bring across Nicholas Pastore. James Houlahan would knot the game up at two apiece with a single through the left side as Mansell would cross the plate.
The game would stay tied tied at two until the home half of the eighth. Torres would come across to score off of a wild pitch, and Grey Sherfey would come up big with a bloop single down the right field line scoring Issac Yeaman and Darden Eyre-Parrish. Ty Lam came out of the pen to shut the door on Brockport, picking up his first win of the season.
