Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Virginia -- Hampden-Sydney College scored the final 14 points of the game to beat Ferrum College 42-28 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) football action this afternoon at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.

THE BASICS
The Tigers jumped out to a 14-0 lead halfway through the first quarter before Ferrum could get rolling offensively. Titus Jones scored on an eight-yard run with 1:35 left in the first, but Hampden-Sydney scored again on a 54-yard touchdown pass from Tanner Bernard to Breaden Bowling to make the score 21-7.
Jones hit Daniel Lamb with a two-yard touchdown pass at 7:36 of the second quarter, then Jones ran one in five minutes later for his second score of the game to tie the game at 21-21. Kaleb Smith scored his second touchdown with 41 seconds left in the half on a six-yard run and the Tigers led 28-21 at the break.
Jones then connected with Conner Sides on a five-yard scoring strike for the only third-quarter score, at the 8:50 mark, and the game was tied again at 28-28.
In the fourth quarter, Bowling hauled in a 79-yard touchdown pass from Bernard to put the Tigers out in front again, then Smith rumbled 52 yards down the middle of the field to put the game out of reach with 1:14 left in regulation.
