THE BASICS
Guilford opened the game with a little noise, taking the opening kick 76 yards to quickly enter Panther territory. A Paulie Menegay run from five yards out just a few plays later would put the Quakers up 7-0, a lead that would stand as their only of the game. Ferrum would answer right back on a later drive, as Kai Bowers found pay dirt from Titus Jones 11 yards out to knot things up at 7 apiece. The Panthers would find two more drives that resulted in touchdowns in the opening frame, as Joshua Ellerbe broke off a 54 yard run and Joe Burris a four yard run to push the advantage to 21-7.
Guilford would find the first score of the second quarter a little under five minutes in, as Burke Nettles converted a 27 yard field goal, bur Ferrum would answer right back to extend the lead. Christian Caldwell hauled in a 51 yard bomb from Jones to make it a 28-10 game. The Quakers would be the next to find pay dirt, as a Bailey Baker pass to James Rice resulted in six for Guilford, but a failed two-point conversion kept things at 28-16. Burris found the end zone for the second time in the ball game with 1:20 to go before half, taking a Jones 39 yard pass to the house to make it 35-16. Guilford ended the first half finding the end zone to answer with no time left, but another failed two-point conversion left things at 35-22 at the mid-way break.
The Quakers found the end zone just twice the rest of the way, as Tre Alexander was credited with two scores of 69 yards and 44 yards, but the Panther offense was just too much. Jones had a strong second half as well, tossing three more scores to Daniel Lamb (13 yards), Tmahdae Penn (42 yards) and Nic Cook (19 yards) to lead the Black Hats to their sixth win on the year. The win also cliched a winning season for the Panthers, and saw Jones break the single-season record in touchdowns thrown for (20), yards thrown for in a season (2,000), and also the single-game record for touchdowns in a game (6).

BEHIND THE WHISTLE
"It was a great team win today, so pleased with how our guys bounced back from last week. Our coaches made adjustments in the second half and gave up the opportunity to pull away. Personally, what an individual performance by Titus! His efforts, coupled with the improvements we've made over the last couple weeks, have helped us to become a better team." --Head Coach Cleive Adams
