Box Score EMORY, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference football game on the road, falling 41-23 to Emory & Henry College this afternoon at Fred Selfe Stadium. The game was the sixth annual Crooked Road Classic.

THE BASICS
Emory & Henry is a former member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and Ferrum's longest-standing football rival. Today's game was the 42nd time Ferrum and Emory have met on the gridiron. The Wasps have reclassified as an NCAA Div. II institution and joined the South Atlantic Conference.
Emory & Henry took a 6-0 lead two minutes into the game on Jermawn Ford's 37-yard touchdown reception from Kyle Short. Seth Deaton trimmed the lead to 6-3 with a 35-yard field goal for Ferrum one minute later. Short and Ford connected for another score, this time from 15 yards out to give the Wasps a 13-3 lead at 8:37 of the first quarter.
Josh Ellerbe found the end zone from a yard out at 5:44 to get the lead down to 13-10, then Devontae Jordan punched it in for E&H with a two-yard TD plunge with 40 seconds left in the first.
Both teams played solid defensively in the second quarter, with Cameron Jones' 31-yard field goal the only score in the quarter, and the Wasps took a 23-10 lead into halftime.
Ellerbe hauled in a 53-yard touchdown catch from Titus Jones to open the third quarter and the lead was down to 23-17. Short connected with Kashawn Cosey for a seven-yard TD score, Jordan rumbled in from eight yards out and Jones hit a 25-yard field goal to give Emory & Henry a commanding 41-17 lead at the end of the third.
Ferrum closed out scoring when Jones hit Deven Gray with a 10-yard touchdown strike for the only score of the fourth quarter with 5:48 left to play. Elerbe closed the game with 112 yards and a score on 15 carries, his third 100-yard rushing game this season.
