SALEM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's wrestling team competed Saturday, November 20, at the Star City Duals. The Panthers wrestled four dual meets, posting a 3-1 mark at Roanoke College's Cregger Center Fieldhouse. One of Ferrum's wins was over University of Ozarks, ranked #24 in the country by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

THE BASICS
The Panthers opened the day with wins over University of Ozarks, Southern Virginia University and Apprentice School, then finished with a loss to host Roanoke. Saturday's 3-1 mark improved Ferrum to 4-2 this season.
Levi Englman (133 lbs) Sam Slate (184) and Braden Homsey (197) all went unbeaten on the day. Homsey was impressive with a 4-0 mark, including two pins, a technical fall and a major decision. Slate was 4-0 with a pair of pins and Englman was 3-0 with two pins and a major.
Christian Hite (157) picked up some valuable team points with a 3-1 mark and decked three opponents. Tyler Ramirez (149) went 2-2 with two pins, Rayshawn Dixon (285) went 2-2 with a major, Hayden Funck (141) went 2-2, and Colt Oliver (174) went 2-2.
