FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College opened its football season tonight at home against Emory & Henry College, falling 17-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Grayson Overstreet got the Wasps on the board with a three-yard touchdown run at 4:04 of the first quarter, then found the end zone again with 46 seconds left in the first half. Both scores were followed by Zach Baber PATs.

Baber would close out scoring with a 29-yard field goal with 5:30 left in the game. Emory & Henry closed the game with 311 yards in total offense, to Ferrum's 194 yards.

KEY STATS
Overstreet closed the game with 196 yards and a pair of scores on 32 carries. Hunter Taylor was 9-27 passing for 101 yards for the Wasps. Ivan Phillips led Emory & Henry defensively with eight tackles, including four solo stop and two tackles for loss.

Titus Jones was 16-39 passing for 199 yards for Ferrum, while Tmahdae Penn made five receptions for 104 yards and Christopher Anderson had 26 yards on eight carries. Billy Higgins posted 11 tackles for the Panthers, including five solo and two for loss, and had one quarterback sack. Raymond Alexander had nine tackles, including three for loss, and forced a fumble.
