LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- Josh Greenway was 5-8 in two games with a double, two runs and three RBI as Ferrum College dropped both ends of an Old Dominion Athletic Conferenc ( ODAC) baseball doubleheader to University of Lynchburg this afternoon at Fox Field.

GAME 1
Ferrum scored first with four runs in the third inning. Ozzie Torres, Matt Yarbrough and Isaac Yeaman scored off RBI singles, then Benjamin Thomas crossed the plate courtesy of a passed ball. Lynchburg scored five in the bottom of the third to take a 5-4 lead. The Panthers answered with two runs in the fourth , with Grey Sherfey scoring on a throwing error and Rufus Hurdle on a Torres RBI single.
The Hornets scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 6-6, then added one in the seventh and three in the eighth. Ferrum scratched out a run in the ninth inning, with Greenway scoring on Yarbrough's RBI single to left, but the Hornets played just enough defense to close it out and earn the win.
Greenway went 4-5 with a double, two runs and two RBI for Ferrum. Starter Will Davis (L, 2-2) pitched 6.1 innings with 11 hits, seven earned runs, a walk and two strikeouts. Zack Potts (W, 4-0) pitched 5.2 innings in relief to get the win, allowing six hits, two earned runs and a walk, while striking out seven.
GAME 2
Greenway got things going in the nightcap with an RBI singe to center in the first inning, scoring Hurdle. The Hornets answered with five runs in the third and six in the fourth. The Panthers scored three in the fifth, two on Jackson Horton's RBI double and one on Sherfey's RBI single. Hurdle scored Ferrum's final run on a passed ball in the eighth.
Hurdle went 2-3 with a triple and scored a pair of runs for the Panthers. Starter Carlton Redd (L, 1-4) took the loss, pitching 3.1 innings with five hits, six earned runs, a walk and two strikeouts. Starter Brandon Pond (W, 3-3) pitched seven innings to get the win, allowing five hits, three earned runs and a pair of walks, with six strikeouts.

Coach Ryan Brittle's team will be back in action Tuesday, April 6, at Southern Virginia University. First pitch for the non-conference game is scheduled to be thrown out at 4:00 p.m. in Buena Vista, Virginia.
