THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out to an early 11-4 lead at the 6:29 mark of the opening quarter, courtesy of a pair of Kayla Cabiness three-pointers and one from Aisha Martin, and a layup by Cameron Hawkins.
The Eagles battled back with a 7-0 flurry over the next minute to even the score at 11-11, then closed out the first on top 20-16.
Ferrum got back to within a point at 24-23 when Cabiness made one of two free throws at 5:09 of the second quarter. Bridgewater closed out the first half with a 13-3 run to take a 37-26 lead into the locker room.
The two teams played evenly in the third quarter and the Eagles led 54-42 headed into the fourth. Bridgewater opened the final quarter with a 9-2 run to go on top 63-44, then continued to pull away down the stretch.
